Camellia oil has been used to moisturize hair and skin in Japan for long time. Despite its good compatibility with Asian dark hair and its versatility in use, it is not used as much as it was before due to the emergence of the modern cosmetic oils. Very few companies produce camellia oil nowadays, and the package designs are conservative and look alike.

Yuta Ikeya redesigned the package of locally extracted camellia oil in Gotemba city in Japan. The aim was to reimagine the modern camellia oil that will be accepted by younger generations.

The product was produced in limited amount and sold at The 29th All Japan Camelia Summit (第29回全日本椿サミット) in Gotemba city, and later at a local cafe.
